What is a Logistics unit and how is it identified?

Modified on Thu, 22 Aug at 11:07 AM

  • A logistic unit can be any combination of trade units or other objects put together in a case, on  a pallet or truck, established for the purpose of transport or warehousing.
  • Logistic units are individually identified with the SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code)
  • The SSCC allows the exchange of all necessary information using eCom messages.
  • Transaction information can then be accessed by scanning (bar code) or reading (EPC/RFID) the SSCC on the logistic unit and accessing the relevant information.
