What do I do if my solution providers tell me I can’t use GS1 standards with their solutions?

  • Your solution provider provides a service to your organisation and hence should be able to work with you to understand what changes (if any) need to be made to your current IT solutions.
  • If you are unsure about what exactly you need to ask to your solution provider regarding the implementation of GS1 standards for the business process you are addressing, then your GS1 Member Organisation will be able to assist.
  • If you are at a stage of selecting a solution provider, your GS1 member organisation can provide you with the language to include in your request for proposal to require the solution provider capable of supporting GS1 standards.
  • You can ask the MO to provide a workshop for the Solution Provider to explain the benefits and technical aspects of working with GS1 standards.
