What is the difference between GS1 Global Traceability Standard and other standards?

Modified on Thu, 22 Aug at 10:05 AM

Codex, ISO, BRC, IFS, HACCP and FSSC 22000 as well as regulations define high level traceability requirements: the WHAT should be done. These standards also go beyond traceability and define other requirements for food safety and quality management systems.

GS1 Global Traceability Standard helps companies and organisations to understand the “how to” meet these traceability requirements using standardised traceability data. It is supported by voluntary business standards which are internationally accepted and links each enabling technology (barcode, RFID, EDI) with the relevant GS1 technical standards.
