When I am calculating the size of my barcode, do I include the numbers underneath the barcode and extended bars that are next to them?

No, the Human Readable Interpretation (the numbers underneath the barcode) or the extended bars that are usually next to the Human Readable Interpretation are not included when determining the overall size of the barcode.

If you are trying to determine if your barcode meets the minimum symbol height, you cannot include these in the calculation. In order for the barcode to be successfully scanned, all of the bars and spaces need to be included. Therefore, the complete height of all the bars and spaces need to be included in the overall size calculation.
