How are the 'Standards Approval' and the 'Implementation/Network Deployment' processes different?

Modified on Tue, 20 Aug at 4:22 PM

They are separate and distinct processes led by different groups:

  • Standards Development is initiated by a GSMP Work Request, which is then prioritised and sent to the GDSN Board for approval to form a workgroup. Once approved a Statement of Business Need (SBN) is developed, followed by the creation of a Business Requirements Analysis Document (BRAD), and a Business Solutions Document (BSD).

  • GDSN Implementation and Network Deployment are processes led by GDSN:
    • Implementation is a process to assess all standards awaiting deployment with all stakeholders (Global Registry, KATO, GDSN Certified Data Pools, Trading Partners, GSMP and Certification Agent) to determine readiness, timing, impact and overall effort.
    • Network Deployment begins by establishing a deployment plan to include development and pilot timing as well as Certification testing and beta and production deployment dates. GDSN Data Excellence, Inc works with key stakeholders on the feasibility of all dates.
