How do I ensure I am using correctly assigned numbers?

Modified on Wed, 28 Aug at 7:33 PM

All your own GTINs should be created from the GS1 Company Prefix(es) that has been assigned to your company, and recorded within your own systems in such a way that you cannot issue duplicate numbers to different products. You will also use your GS1 Company Prefix to create any of the other GS1 Identification Keys that you want to use.

You can check whether other companies’ GTINs are created using a valid GS1 Company Prefix by using the Verified by GS1 website which provides basic information about GS1 Company Prefixes.

For further information, please contact your local GS1 Member Organisation.
