What is the difference between GS1 DataBar and GS1-128 barcodes?

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 6:22 PM

GS1-128 barcodes were introduced to be used on outer cases (trade item groupings) and logistic units, and are designed to be scanned using raster scanners or fixed mount scanners.

These need the barcodes to be presented upright so that they can be read.

GS1 DataBar barcodes were designed to be read by omnidirectional scanners that are used at the retail Point-of-Sale.
