Under the GS1 umbrella, EPC development and standardization has been spearheaded by a wide range of stakeholders from multiple sectors, including manufacturers, technology and logistics providers, and retailers.
As the EPCglobal technical standards have matured, the work of maintaining and extending them has been taken up by GS1’s Global Standards Management Process, or GSMP.
