How do I check if a GS1 GTIN™ is valid?

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 9:52 AM

To verify whether a GS1 GTIN™ is valid, use Verified by GS1.
Searching the global GS1 database by using Verified by GS1 will return, at a minimum, information about the company, organisation or person who assigned the GS1 GTIN™ and, if available in the database, the corresponding product information for the GS1 GTIN™.

If the GS1 GTIN™ number queried is not a GS1 GTIN™ or is not found in the GS1 database, you will receive a message with a brief explanation.

The Verified by GS1 service (HERE) is available to all users for free to use for 30 queries maximum per day.

More advanced querying capabilities are accessible via your local GS1 Member Organisation: https://www.gs1.org/standards/get-barcodes.
